The Greater Toronto Area Admin Staff Association (GTAAA), formerly the Toronto Support Staff Association, is an inter-clinic group made up of clinic Admin Staff and Office Managers in the GTA and Specialty Clinics. The group discusses clinic issues that impact admin staff and office managers.
o Participants (subscribers to the listserv) in administration, support or office-manager roles, but from time to time there may be other clinic managers or staff with a mix of duties on the list.
o Members are expected to be collegial, are guided by the principle that everyone in the community is a valued participant, and contributes to the sense of shared purpose that inter-clinic spaces foster. Inclusion and respect for others are important principles that underpin inter-clinic spaces.
o Confidentiality – it is expected that the conversations and discussions on this list are primarily for list subscribers, however complete confidentiality is not an expectation as important information to bring back to your clinic may be discussed or circulated.
o If information or resources are shared that you would want to share with your Clinic, please first clarify with the person posting whether the information is for this group only or can be shared.
o Please don’t forward the email chains to non-subscribers, even those at your Clinic.
o This is a Clinic-specific space, designed to foster internal conversation. Please do not forward information posted here to LAO staff or those outside the clinic system.
o Transparency – it is important to developing our community that we are aware of who else is included in conversations. You can (as a subscriber) see the list of other subscribers for any CRO-hosted listserv you are on and should be able to identify the clinic from the email address. The link to see the list can be found on the list info page here: https://www.cro.on.ca/mailman/listinfo/tssa.
o Moderators for this list are: Brad Evoy and Paul Pinkerton. The list moderator role is to ensure the smooth functioning of the list and to assist with administering subscriptions, not to intervene or mediate in difficult conversations. Clinic staff are responsible for their words and actions to their own clinic’s supervisor or manager and problematic issues arising from comments on this listserv should be brought to the attention of your own manager for assistance in resolving. That being said, the moderators will remove content if we feel it does not respect others or contravenes these guidelines.
